Epidemiology of Emerging Infectious Diseases: One Health Approaches
Emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases continue to challenge global health, driven by climate change, urbanization, land-use change, and increasing human–animal contact. This issue of Advances in Global Health & Epidemiology, “Epidemiology of Emerging Infectious Diseases: One Health Approaches,” showcases multidisciplinary research at the human–animal–environment interface. Contributions highlight surveillance innovations, genomic and digital epidemiology, modelling of transmission dynamics, and assessments of antimicrobial resistance across sectors. By integrating epidemiologic evidence from human, animal, and environmental health, the articles in this issue aim to strengthen early detection, risk assessment, and effective prevention and control strategies in diverse settings, particularly low- and middle-income countries.
